How to send your first quote with JobTap

Sending your first quote with JobTap takes less than 5 minutes. Here's exactly how to do it.

Step 1 — Add your client

Before you can quote, you need a client on file.

Go to Clients → New client and add their name, email address, and phone number. The email address is important — it's where their quote link gets sent.

If you're in a hurry, you can add a client on the fly directly from the quote screen too.

Step 2 — Start a new quote

Tap Quotes → New quote from the bottom navigation.

Select your client from the dropdown. JobTap will automatically pull in their details.

Step 3 — Add your line items

This is where you break down the job. Add a line for each thing you're charging for:

  • Labour — your hours and hourly rate
  • Materials — itemised by product or category
  • Callout fee — if you charge one
  • Travel — if applicable

Give each line a clear description. Your client reads this, so "Labour — install hot water cylinder" is better than just "Labour."

Step 4 — Check your GST

If you're GST registered, JobTap calculates 15% GST automatically. You'll see the subtotal, GST amount, and total clearly broken out.

If you're not GST registered, toggle that off in your profile and JobTap handles it correctly.

Step 5 — Send it

Hit Send quote. Your client gets an email with a link. They tap it, read through the quote on their phone, and sign with their finger.

You get notified the moment they sign.

What happens next?

Once the job is done, open the signed quote and tap Create invoice. One tap — the invoice is ready to send.
